OUTRAGEOUS IMPRISONMENT: Two Britons — Simon Sheppard, a writer and behavioral scientist, and Stephen Whittle, a freelance writer and satirist — languished a year in American jails though they committed no crimes whatever under American law. They fled to the U.S. seeking asylum because they fell afoul of tyrannical anti-free-speech laws in Britain and faced imprisonment merely for expressing their ideas and publishing the ideas of others — such as Robert Crumb cartoons! — on a Web page. If anyone deserves asylum here, they do. The pair, dubbed the Heretical Two, are prime examples of our abandonment of our once-proud tradition of freedom of expression. They’ve now been forcibly returned to Britain, where they face sentencing for their “crimes” on July 10. Before we cast stones at Iran, we need to examine our own societies.

James Madison and the Constitution, portrayed in a sculpture at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia
by Kevin Alfred Strom
SOME PEOPLE — most notably lobbyists for the world’s wealthiest ethnic group — would like to see “speech codes,” which make it a punishable offense to criticize persons who belong to certain “protected classes,” enacted into law in the United States.
These pressure groups have already gotten their way in many European countries, and people have gone to jail and had their lives ruined and their families devastated merely for telling the truth as they saw it — for saying that some racial groups commit a disproportionate amount of crime, for example; or for suggesting that some wartime propaganda stories might be exaggerated.
DOCTOR’S JOURNAL FIGHTS ISRAEL LOBBY: ‘The British Medical Journal, one of the most respected publications of its kind, has issued a stern editorial complaining about orchestrated campaigns in support of Israel,’ according to Religious Intelligence News. The BMJ also reveals for the first time that in 1981, “when World Medicine, a popular medical magazine, published an article criticising the Israeli prime minister, Menachem Begin… the resulting [Jewish] campaign led to the dismissal of Michael O’Donnell as editor and the closure of the magazine. [Emphasis ours.] “Such campaigns cannot be allowed to succeed – not so much because they are wrong about the issues, but because their ultimate aim is censorship and suppression by means of intimidation”’
‘WHO RULES AMERICA?’ IN NEW TRANSLATION: Thanks to the Czech Republic-based newsmagazine Zvedavec, my research report on the near-monopoly media control that prevails in the United States — ‘Who Rules America?’ — is now available in yet another language. Zvedavec looks to be an active site for Czech-speakers, with daily updates and a rich article archive going back ten years.

AS READERS have doubtless noticed, this site has been down for several weeks as we recovered from a malicious hacker attack — and in the process I learned quite a bit about content management systems security, php code, and database management and recovery.
The site is still not fully restored yet, but, as you can see, most of the content is back and we will be making continual improvements, fine-tuning the site’s features, and adding new content too. Watch this space!

DISSIDENT DEFENSE: I’d like to express my gratitude today for the support of the Dissident Defence Network (DDN), which has just published information on my case. This is a new organization dedicated to establishing a support and contact network for persecuted “thought criminals” and whistleblowers of many different backgrounds, nationalities, and political views.
They say “Look at us as the Amnesty International for dissidents and critics of the New World Order system.” Amnesty International is corrupt, according to DDN, and only accepts cases of which the Establishment approves. Readers of my work and the work of the Institute for Historical Review will remember that it was Amnesty International which, outrageously, refused to support Ernst Zundel.
Author’s conspiracy book banned in France — now published in English
by Kevin Alfred Strom
HAVING BEEN THROUGH (and ultimately rejected) the “right wing” and conservative movements early in my life, I have seen a great many books purporting to expose political or financial conspiracies. Quite a few are worthless. A significant number of these are so ludicrous as to actually serve the cause of those they ostensibly criticize, who may indeed covertly finance the nuttier tomes. A few are indispensable. Many also fall into the category of interesting, though flawed.
(Some fun favorites of mine in the worthless or bogus categories: The “militia” writer who claimed that most of us would die when the Earth passed through a “poison gas belt” in 1991, and who thoughtfully offered for sale special gas masks to save us; the prolific Spotlight advertiser who warned us about the giant crack that the Illuminati were going to engineer under the Atlantic Ocean, “proved by Bible prophecy”; and the 9-11 theorists who claim that there were no terrorists and no jets — all was a 3-D holographic projection. I could go on indefinitely.)
In general, I think that it’s insane to believe that groups — especially intensely ethnocentric minorities — never conspire; but believing that most of the evils of the world are the work of a “master conspiracy” is also pathological, in my opinion.
